"This group exhibited consists of works created on or applied to wood triangles. These triangles were hand-cut by Beep Beep Gallery staff members in three sizes: small, medium and large. The finished triangles were displayed in a series of patterns and arranged throughout the gallery. Participating artists included Dorothy Stucki, Nathan Phaneuf, Sarah Daly, Sam Parker, Allen Taylor, Kelly Cloninger, Sanithna Phansavanh, Kelly McKernan, Romy Maloon, and many others."

Artlantis Festival in Atlanta, Ga

Last summer I participated in ARTLANTIS, an arts festival put on by Beep Beep gallery annually.

"Artlantis is an all day summer festival that takes place on the lawn of Druid Hills Baptist Church. Unlike other Atlanta festivals, Artlantis is unique in that it exclusively showcases art and music from local talent. With ever-gaining momentum, Artlantis is well on it’s way to being a local tradition."

My Moustaches Decorating the Offices of Scoutmob

In May of 2011, I created some custom art work for the Atlanta Offices of Scoutmob, everyone's favorite local deal app. I created four moustaches similar in shape to the four listed on the iphone app. Each one was cut from plywood and had a different surface treatment.

The only image of the work installed in their space is pulled from the Scoutmob

Exquisite Corpse on Friday the 13th

In this group exhibit, loosely based on the surrealist “exquisite corpse” technique, seven local artists will contribute elements to be composed into collaborative figurative arrangements. Curated by MINT's Gallery Manager, Mike Germon, “Exquisite” will allow each participating artist to explore physicality and the living form using the medium of their choice. Each artist created a "head, torso, and limbs," for the curator to organize in mixed compositions.

Contributing artists, chosen specifically for their background and technique, include Romy Maloon, Nikita Gale, Baxter Crane, Bean Summer, Aubrey Longley-Cook, Ashley Anderson, and Dorothy Stucki.

Fresh Meat: Filets, Strips and Other Marbled Delights, a FREE group art exhibition on July 24 at The Goat Farm in Atlanta. The show will feature new and diverse works from the organization’s second round of selected artists, including Plastic Aztecs, Christian Gordy, Kerry Jones, Romy Maloon, NImer Aleck II, The $tatus Faction and Dave Batterman.

What is DASHBOARD CO-OP?

Founded in February 2010, Dashboard Co-Op empowers emerging artists by providing them with lucrative and creative opportunities. The organization hosts group exhibitions to sell work to local and regional collectors—artists keep 100% of any and all profits. Dashboard launched its virtual gallery with 12 Atlanta and New York-based artists, including Paper Twins, Baxter Crane, Jason Travis and Erica Wilson.

In an effort to provide a platform for artists whose work might not fit in traditional gallery settings, Dashboard accepts submissions on a rolling basis and announces those selected every three months. Learn more here.

Spring Break Horns

Though these were conceived almost a year ago, they have just now come to fruition. During Spring Break of 09’ a large group of my best friends from Atlanta came to visit me in Sarasota, Fl. During that time everyone (both Atl and Sarasota friends) doodled all over these horns. I preserved these drawings by wood burning them and mounting them. I completed it by adding the Spring Break title in cheesy curly cue font.

Hi All. I have not posted in a while. Here are two recent works. Titled "White Meat Gun" and "Lady's Big Black Rifle." Ceramic and mixed media.

Quarry- Senior Thesis

I create sculptures using clay that are generally fractured and broken; the ceramic material echoes the cultural and social fissures created by cultural and generational displacement. I use ceramic for its organic properties as well as its association with American kitsch. I use molds to create repetition; this provides movement and unifies the splintered elements of the sculpture. The image of fractured antelope parts (predominantly the horn) mimics the hunting trophy, but reconfigures its aesthetic and position. Mounted hunting trophies and guns can insight feelings of great unease or admiration depending on the perspective of the viewer. No matter how an individual feels about hunting as sport, it is an activity of power and dominance. It is this space, between the unsettling and the beautiful, the fractured and whole, the displaced and the rooted, that I encourage the viewer to question.
